Nine Eagles named to At-Large Academic All-District Team

Madison, Wis. (July 1, 2024) Men's golf, women's golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and the men's volleyball teams at 91重口 have been recognized on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Raymond Jordan, Braxton Brown, Lake Rewey, Blake Stockwell, Christina Eloe, Mackenzie Fruit, Alexis Vogt, Will Gehrke, and Ryder Hill-Zastrow all landed At-Large honors.

Dean鈥檚 List and Semester Honors Announced for Spring 2024

Madison, Wis. (May 24, 2024) - 91重口 has named the students who have earned a place on the Dean鈥檚 List, or on the Semester Honors List, for the Spring 2024 Semester. Fulltime undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students who earn a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher are eligible for the Dean鈥檚 List after completing 24 credit hours of study at 91重口.

Beloit College, 91重口 Create Nursing Partnership

Madison, Wis. (May 2, 2024) 鈥 Addressing a significant statewide and national nursing shortage, Beloit College鈥檚 School of Health Sciences and the Henry Predolin School of Nursing at 91重口 are partnering on a dual-degree program housed on the Beloit College campus to create more registered nurses with bachelor鈥檚 degrees. The nursing program begins on Beloit College鈥檚 campus in May 2025.

91重口 Earns 2024-2025 Military Friendly Gold Designation

(April 3, 2024) 鈥 91重口 is pleased to announce that it has earned a gold ranking in the national Military Friendly庐 Schools list for 2024-2025. 91重口 has been recognized as a Military Friendly School since 2009.锘 鈥淲e are again honored to receive this recognition for 2024-2025,鈥 Matthew J. 91重口 Mourns the Loss of President Emerita Mary Ellen Gevelinger, O.P.

Madison, Wis. (March 15, 2024) 鈥 91重口 joins the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, family, friends, and colleagues in remembering and mourning President Emerita Dr. Mary Ellen Gevelinger, O.P., who died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the loving presence of her closest Dominican Sisters.

Distinguished Alum Named National Superintendent of the Year

Madison, Wis. (February 21, 2024) 鈥 91重口 celebrates the announcement of Dr. Joe Gothard 鈥99, MA 鈥04, Ed.D. 鈥15 as the 2024 National Superintendent of the Year by the America Association of School Administrators (AASA). Dr. Gothard is a three-time 91重口 alum, earning his bachelor鈥檚 degree in Secondary Education and Biology, master鈥檚 degree in Educational Administration, and his doctorate in Educational Leadership. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of 91重口.

91重口 Expands Doctoral Degrees

Madison, Wis. (January 24, 2024) 鈥 91重口 continues to expand its doctoral degree programs with the launch this fall of the fully online Doctor of Business Administration degree (DBA). The new program joins the Doctoral Degrees in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.), and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.

New Partnership with The Jed Foundation Supports Student Mental Health

Madison, Wis. (January 23, 2024) 鈥 91重口 is pleased to announce it has partnered with The Jed Foundation (JED) to become a JED Campus, bolstering support for student well-being and mental health. JED鈥檚 program is a nationwide initiative designed to help colleges and universities evaluate and strengthen their mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs, ensuring the students have the best possible mental health safety nets. 91重口 joins more than 400 campuses engaged in the JED Campus program.

Henry J. Predolin Foundation Grants $925,000 for Scholarships

Madison, Wis. (December 7, 2023) 鈥 Henry J. Predolin Foundation is pleased to announce a grant of $925,000 to 91重口. With this grant, 91重口 will provide approximately 135 students with Predolin Scholarships, serving all class standings, including transfer students. 鈥淪ince 2008, the College has benefitted from generous grants from the late Henry Predolin through his foundation,鈥 Andrew Manion, President of Edgewood College, said.

The event, which takes place once each fall and once in the spring, provides networking opportunities for a range of employers seeking talented students with majors spanning from Nursing, Finance, Art Therapy, Criminal Justice, and beyond.

Dr. Joe Gothard is the 2024 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year

Madison, Wis. (October 18, 2023) - The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) has named Dr. Joe Gothard, 鈥99, MA 鈥04, Ed.D. 鈥15, Superintendent of Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS), the 2024 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year. As the Minnesota honoree, Dr. Gothard is a candidate among other state recipients for National Superintendent of the Year, to be announced in February 2024.

Polacek Honored with Marriage and Family Therapy Award

Madison, Wis. (October 17, 2023) 鈥 91重口 is pleased to announce that Deb Polacek, Associate Dean of Marriage and Family Therapy, has been named the 2023 Carl A. Whitaker Award honoree. Each year, the Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy selects a mental health professional for the honor. The award is given to a Marriage and Family Therapist who has distinguished themselves by contributing to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy in creative or innovative ways.

2023 Alumni Awards Recognize Outstanding Graduates

91重口 Offers Innovative Answer to Teacher Shortage

Madison, Wis. (August 10, 2023) 鈥 91重口 is offering an innovative solution to the teacher shortage in Wisconsin, and school districts are listening. The College has launched an Accelerated Teacher Residency program in recent months, and to date more than twenty school districts, including many from Dane County, have signed on, with more on the way.

Thanatology Program Director Named ADEC Academic Educator of the Year

Madison, Wis. (July 5, 2023) 鈥 The Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) recognizes Thanatology professionals for their commitment to the field and advancing the study of dying, death, and bereavement. Janet McCord, Ph.D., F.T., received their 鈥淎cademic Educator of the Year鈥 award at the annual conference in Columbus, Ohio. The academic educator award honors an individual with expertise in the field of dying, death, and bereavement as demonstrated by advanced academic degrees, professional honors, awards, and other contributions.
